WINDHAM, CONNECTICUT(First Town Manager) TOWN MANAGER
Windham recently adopted a Council/Manager form of government which takes effect in the Fall of 2009. The new governing body will include a Ten-member Town Council with a separately elected Mayor. Seven Council members will be elected from the Willimantic District. Three will be elected the Windham Service District. Windham's first Town Manager will lead this transition and is expected to provide new opportunities for efficient town operations while encouraging future growth and development. The successful candidate must hold an undergraduate degree in public administration, political science, business administration or a closely related field. A Master's Degree in Public or Business Administration is preferred. ICMA Credentialed Manager preferred. Five to seven years of increasingly responsible experience in municipal government, previous experience as Town Manager or Assistant Town Manager preferred, Ability to speak Spanish would be a plus.
